Description

Pre-owned Shergold Marathon Mk1 Vintage Bass in Black Finish in used condition with some paint cracking and general wear and dinks as shown.

The Shergold Marathon Bass was a British-built vintage instrument manufactured from 1975 into the early 1980s. Evolving from the Hayman 40/40 bass, it was notably used by professional musicians like Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order.

All original but missing the bridge cover

Body Material: Obeche

Neck Material: Solid Maple (bolt-on, 4-bolt neck plate).

Fingerboard: Maple featuring black dot inlays.

Scale Length: 34 inches (Standard Long Scale).

Nut Width: 1 7/8 inches (approx. 43mm).

Pickups: 1 x Original Shergold split-coil humbucker (essentially two mini-humbuckers built into a single housing).

Electronics: Mono/Stereo switching capability.

Stereo output with selector switch to route strings 1 & 2 to one channel and strings 3 & 4 to another.

Controls: 1 x Volume, 1 x Tone.

Hardware: Fully adjustable bridge with barrel saddles, original sealed chrome tuners, and a black plastic bridge cover.
